I am using a Local Host... How do I set up a Cron Task on a local host?

I also have a test platform on my local host where I test the FlashVideo module locally. How I solve this problem is by just downloading the very complete and functional module available for Drupal called the Poor Man's Cron Module. What this module does is mimic the Cron Cycle but without having the need to set up a timed service on your server. In other words, this module is a life saver for those who need to run cron on a local server.
